Performance rear shock link for the Yamaha XSR900 2022-2024

Developed for track use only.

If you like the looks of your Yamaha XSR900, but find the steering is not quite sharp enough, then this jack up kit may be for you. If you have done your research on how to improve the handling of your XSR900, you may have noticed that it has quite relaxed steering geometry, almost identical to the Tracer 9 adventure/tour bike with which it shares a swingarm. This is great for most XSR900 owners who want a stable and relaxed bike, but for the few who love the looks but want sports bike like handling, you have come to the right place. Fortunately the XSR900 shares the same shock rocker link with the Yamaha MT-09 (2021-2023), meaning the shock link we developed on our R9 build is suitable for the XSR900 too.

CAD developed, and machined from billet 7075 T6 aluminium. Designed and made in England.

Note: The link is finished GP style in raw aluminium, and may scratch easier than anodised aluminium. Not suitable for taking a pillion as progressive nature of spring is reduced. Side stand may no longer be effective. Track use only.

  • Rear ride height is raised by 40mm

  • Trail is reduced by 9.8mm

  • Rake angle is reduced by 1.6 degrees

  • Wheelbase is reduced by 9mm

  • Swingarm angle is increased by 2.7 degrees

The reduced trail leads to more agile handling and quicker turning, allowing you to attack even the most technical tracks at speed. The less progressive suspension action gives improved and consistant rider feel and feedback, and smoother power transfer for improved rear tyre wear. The increased swingarm angle adds better anti-squat characteristics for increased corner exit traction and line holding. Slight ground clearance improvment.

Think the XSR900-GP is the answer? Ironically the Yamaha XSR900-GP has even less sporty rake and trail than even the Tracer 9, somewhere between the Tracer 9 and the giant BMW GS adventure bike. Not exactly like the sharp steering the of the TZR its retro looks echo. No problem if you already have an XSR900, this jack up link will raise the back end to make the standard XSR900 rake and trail to be far sportier than the XSR900-GP, and even slightly sportier than the Yamaha R1. The XSR900 wheelbase will still be longer than the R1, but this will maintain some of its stability. A must-have if you are serious about doing trackdays on your XSR900.
